Our Daily Bread, Bible Institute is pleased to accept applications for a limited number of Grants to be awarded in Winter and Spring quarters. Applications are invited from students planning to attend full-time in Winter and/or Spring quarters, who can demonstrate significant talent, promise, and/or achievement in at least one of the disciplines of the study you are pursuing, i.e., missions, counseling, writing, teaching, or ministry. Grants can cover as much as 70% of the tuition fees only and may be awarded for one or two quarters. Further grants are offered as long as the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and may be applied to the students Internship Project.

*Suggestion: You may wish to consult the Catalog descriptions of courses with the above subject prefixes for more information on the disciplines in which you can apply for a Grant.

Terms & Amount of Award: Grants may be awarded to cover up to 70% of the tuition fees up to 15 per quarter, not to exceed the number of credit hours in which the student is actually enrolled for that term. Grants include a service component: recipients of a Grant are expected to serve as ambassadors for the Bible Institute by giving, in each term for which a Grant is awarded, four presentations on the Bible Institutes study programs churches or high schools in you area. You may apply for the tuition grant in both Winter and Spring ; please estimate the number of hours you plan to take each term.

The Grant Selection Committee also requires that you submit the following to complete your application:

1. Transcript(s) of any college and/or high school course work completed over the last two years.

2. Verification of current enrollment or of past successful completion of one or more discipline(s) for which you are applying.

(Verification can be achieved through submission of transcripts for #1 above, a statement from your advisor or instructor, or a statement from the past instructor.)

3. An essay or speech presenting evidence of your talent, promise, and/or achievement in the eligible discipline(s). In your presentation, please address the following topics:

a. Describe at least one memorable experience (within or outside of school or church) which brought you to realize your talent and interest in this discipline and/or which moved you forward in developing your skill or understanding in this area;

b. Reflect on the value or significance of the skills and knowledge that you have acquired in the discipline(s) for yourself as well as for others;

c. Offer any other relevant information, such as previous honors earned in this discipline, related career goals, and/or explanation of financial need--which may be helpful to the selection committee in judging your Grant application.

d. Reflect on what the Bible Institute offers students, in order to demonstrate your ability to act as an ambassador for the School and Mission field.

Written submissions should be typewritten or word processed, double-spaced, and attached to this completed form. If you elect instead to make an oral presentation, please make a presentation appointment when you submit this application.

4. One letter of recommendation, preferably from a teacher well acquainted with your talent, promise, and/or accomplishment in the eligible discipline(s) of your application.

Completed applications for Grant Awards for Winter and/or Spring should be submitted to the Bible Institute, no later than 4 p.m. on the Friday of the ninth (9th) week of the quarter.

Grant Award recipients for Winter and Spring will be announced by Monday of finals week, Fall Quarter. Two-quarter award recipients are expected to maintain a minimum overall G.P.A. of at least 3.0 in Winter term course work as a condition for extending their Talent Grant award into the Spring term. To verify satisfactory academic standing, two-term Talent Grant recipients will be required to submit in-progress grade reports from all their Winter instructors during Week #7 of the term. Talent Grant recipients are also expected to fulfill their service requirement of a presentation.
