Our Daily Bread, Ministries Fellowship House Program Insights for New Members
2) The Houses will only work if we remain focused on the Word, and stay democratic and the system of financial support is strictly followed. 3) House meetings take place twice weekly, one for keeping things run smoothly, the other for study and worship. The weekly meeting is the place to resolve disputes among the family. 4) Pay your weekly share of expenses on time. You are a new creature in Christ and Old habits should be left behind. 5) Open Finances of the House keeps trust. The finances should be discussed each meeting and posted openly for everyone to see.
7) Don't Isolate. Loneliness and self-pity are the devils tools to get us to go back to a life with out Christ. 8) Attend House meetings; start with the house devotional each morning. Attend church and help others, these things help the change as the Spirit wars against the flesh. 9) Encourage others to stay focused, but stop Satan in his tracks and blow the whistle on anyone that is not interested in following a new life. It is good not to be judgmental, but it is important to deal with problems. The House can loose its charter for not dealing with these problems.
Getting Into A Fellowship House, Questions & Answers Q. How can I get into a Fellowship House? A. The first step is to find a Fellowship House that has a vacancy or is anticipating one. Local Churches will know where the Houses are located or you can contact Our Daily Bread, Ministries for a list of Houses. Second, the applicant must fill out a standard application and be interviewed by members of the house. Third, the members will vote on whether to accept the applicant. It takes 80% affirmative vote to get into a Fellowship House. Q. How much does it cost to apply to a Fellowship House? A. There is no application fee, but if you're accepted for membership in the house, the group will require a moving in expense and advance payment of the equal share of expenses. Q. What is an "equal share of expenses?’ A. The equal share of expenses is the household costs divided among the members of the House. The average cost, depending on how many people are living in the house is an average from $50 per week to $75 per week, as some houses have five residents and others eight, and it will depend on the area as some are more costly than others. The exact share of expenses varies depending on costs the house incurs for renting and running the house. Q. What is the moving in expense? A. This is a share of the security deposits the group initially paid to rent the house. It is usually equal to a month or two weeks of equal share expense. Q. Is the moving expense refundable? A. Yes when a person moves out, and leaves the room clean so it can be rented and there are not any further phone or utility charges, as these are deducted.
