Top Ten Reasons to Choose ODB!
What is Our Daily Bread, Missions and why work with ODB?
Our Daily Bread, Missions: The easiest way to explain what ODB is and what it does is to think of ODB as the body of Christ as a communications center with God as the focus, being a communications center for different parts of the body so the body can work as one body with many parts. This saves time and resources for those in the body as it reduces duplication of cost, time and effort having a united front to reach all globally. ODB is supported by people who see the vision of one body working together to accomplish His will globally. ODB is not over others, but in a role of support for all in the body. Believers are welcome in ODB and to work as one body, whether it be individuals, churches, schools, home churches, transitional housing or counseling centers to care for the needs of people globally. We also serve as a placement service for those called in ministry, whether it be in a local church or across the globe. ODB does not take the place of the church, but works to support it and what it does and what it should do globally. In working as one body there is a blessing and a spiritual covering, which empowers each in the body to do what we are called to do.
Our Daily Bread, Ministries: The best way to understand ODB ministries is the body working together as one body, that are called by God to serve in some sort of ministry. It represents what you do on a local basis and we send referrals to local ministers and ministries and churches. Our Daily Bread, Missions and its outreaches, affiliates and member organizations are one of the most exciting ministry opportunities in existence today. It is the body learning to work together as one body with many parts pooling resources in love and unity. God is using this ministry to open doors for the Gospel globally. If you are looking for an opportunity to use your passion for God, love of His work, and your gifts and abilities to serve the Lord in a cutting edge ministry, Our Daily Bread, Missions is just the place for you, in its wide variety of service globally!
Our Daily Bread, Bible School and Institute: By its design and purpose is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry in all age groups. This is accomplished in three ways. First a spiritual covering. Secondly education and third hands on training in practical application.
The other function of the Bible Institute is to supply workers trained for ministry globally in local churches and ministries through Global Missions Initiative , an initiative to reach all globally with His will, ways, statutes, ordinances and commandments so we can have His Covenant provision.
We welcome all to ODB, no matter where you are in the scope of things or whether you are new to ministry or desire to transfer to ODB or be certified by ODB as a minister in your particular calling and purpose, whether you are called to work in a local church or in missions or start a new work. We offer certification studies for those that have some experience or desire to transfer to ODB and a full line Bible School for those that have no experience and desire to be trained. Contact Us
ODB Structure: Our Daily Bread, Missions Organization Structure: Charter & Chapter Groups With ODB there are three basic classifications of members. The first is Volunteers. These are non-paid positions. They are our volunteer partners. The second classification of member are staff members paid directly by ODB. Some of these staff members work in advocacy positions working to raise awareness of problems and help raise funds to be used in local communities through our Matching Funds Program, which is available to any member church or organization to be used to help others and not overhead costs. Much of this page is designed for people desiring to serve as staff members and desire to work for ODB directly.
The third category of membership are a combination of Ministers that we either train or wish to transfer there ministerial license with ODB, affiliations and other ministries. Some of these ministries and outreaches are churches, counseling centers, schools, Fellowship Houses, food banks and other outreach local ministries. ODB and its staff members work to support local ministries and their efforts with information, resources and training. These affiliated ministries have joined with us in one of the four associations; Association of Pastoral Counselors, Association of Accredited Bible Schools, Alliance of Accredited Ministers and Churches, Association of Christian Chaplains as we share many of the same visions and goals for outreach in caring for the needs of all God's children in Covenant Partnerships.
Why launch and ODB, Chapter or Charter?
Why Partner with ODB? Member Benefits & ODB, Matching Funds Program (ODB & Association Benefits) & Matching Funds & Qualifications . First, scripture tells us that we are one body with many parts and we are called to support each others ministries. Secondly, the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and as the temple the gifts move in love, unity and compassion for the needs of others. Thirdly, shared resources. ODB, besides its Matching Funds Program has links and resources globally so no stone is left unturned. The next reason is that we do not work against the local church but work to support its outreach either in training, resources, funds or links to outside resources. Everything has been designed to help local outreach from prayer to training to financing. The next reason is simple, in cooperation and communication we can get more done together for His glory than by ourselves or by yourself. All problems in the world can be solved inside the body as Jesus is the head, but He also works through the body if we are willing.
Our Commitment & Your Commitment We at ODB are committed to standing with you as our strength is in Him but also as one body in unity and love. Our Stand with You! We are committed to doing everything we can to help you become all that you have been called to become, no matter what that takes. That is a big commitment. We understand that whatever we do for the very least, we do to Him directly. Your Stand with Us! Our commitment is to you first in helping you and you ministry that you have been called to do and while we stand with you, we ask you to stand in unity with us so we can accomplish what we all have been called to do and leave not stone unturned, no matter who they are and no matter where they are, we as one body are to reach them.
Chapter information. Charter Information. What's the Difference?
Chapters, usually work within the local church, school, or organization. They are usually run by volunteers and work with ODB to solve the needs of those in their local community from food, to shelter and other outreach programs all designed to reach out to the needs of others. To offer counseling services, prayer hotlines and local youth ministries out of existing churches or organizations. A Charter on the other hand is used to form a church or ministry outreach but also designed to help support the work of the local churches ministry outreaches. It is usually staffed and run by full time professionals. We supply training, resources and methods for outreach for both. Both entities are designed to work together.

Introduction to Staff Positions and other Positions in Ministry
Index:
God's Will Top
For a follower of Christ there is no need more pressing than help in discerning God's will. We wish we could tell you exactly what the Lord wants you to do (I'm sure you wouldn't mind that either), but we can't, there are however ways to find out. Besides the normal routes of finding God's will, we have tests and people that can will help you to find His will for you. We believe that God has called us all to some part in ministry whether it is full time or part time, paid or volunteer. You are needed and you are a part of His plan for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. His will is done through us, His servants. If you desire to do God's will above all else, He will make His will known to you. That's comforting. What we offer is the collected wisdom of many years of processing God's will with those contemplating joining His work. We hope you'll find it helpful, and that you'll get at least a few of your questions answered.

Provided here in the links are some basic Qualifications
for Ministers and what we use to select missionary staff for Our Daily Bread, Missions. Please note these criteria are not for the purpose of judging a person's standing with the Lord or his/her worth in the body of Christ. Rather, they are for the purpose of evaluating a person's readiness to serve in the midst of spiritual battle in ministry.
We also require our ministers and staff to agree with our Articles
of Faith and Our
Daily Daily Bread, Missions Board Code of Ethics for Ministers
and Continuing
Education Guidelines for Ministers for
all ministers, missionaries and staff.
God's Leading Top
Applicants must be able to state clearly how and why they believe God is calling them to serve. They must be able to explain how they have been prepared and led by the Holy Spirit. Husband and wife each needs to express God's calling to serve with Our Daily Bread, Missions.
Moral Conduct & Character Top
As a ministry we must evaluate the moral character of applicants in light of the biblical standards of sexual purity. We do understand that believers make mistakes. It is important to learn from those mistakes accepting advice and godly counsel. We are not here to judge people that the fruit we bear is a factor of the condition of our hearts. Do we line up with scripture, His will, etc.? Do we bring unity or discord. These are serious issues. We are not here to reject people but we do want to see that people will allow themselves to be led in accountability.
Character Top
An applicant must be able to communicate and work well with others. Priority is placed upon dependability, willingness to assume responsibility, a teachable spirit, a good reputation, and moral purity. He or she must have leadership qualities or show potential in this area.
Emotional Maturity Top
The demands of support development and an initiative-oriented ministry necessitate that an individual have a reasonable degree of self-assurance and an ability to handle pressure. Often times in ministry is like being put in the fire and although we are here to stand with you, which is a part of our job, all in His service must be able to stand and know that we go through some of these things we do because it builds character and strength. If people are not sure are not sure they should be there, often times they get burned as they were not ready to be in the fire. It is one of the reasons we offer an Internship Program to give many an opportunity to be in the fire, while being somewhat safe in the nest.
Skills and Training
Top
Applicants must have a minimum educational background of a high school diploma or equivalent training and experience and have been out of high school for at least one year prior to receiving acceptance as a staff member and depending on the position they are applying for. If engaged in ministry as a leader we require that people desiring to go into ministry, at least start with our basic certification studies. However, applicant looking for long term placement should consider one of our under graduate programs will working in ministry. Your greatest asset is not so much your ability, but your availability. We base your potential "fit" on: spiritual gifts, natural talents and abilities, life skills experience, and your current resume.
Availability for Training Top
We want our new staff members to have the best possible training to enable them to effectively minister for Christ. New Staff Training is an important Bible training and orientation experience to help new staff make the transition to life as a staff member. We have found. Especially in ministry to continue on in ministry, that is all about learning and being open to learning. We also have found that those not open to more learning do not do well in ministry as they do not allow themselves to follow and as such God will not allow them to lead. Our job is to help you become everything that you have been called to do. Our job in part is to train you to be a leader. His ministry needs leaders now more than ever, however one must learn how to be a follower first.
Marriage/Engagement
Top
We consider a husband and wife to be a team; therefore, couples must be in agreement as to their leading to and with Our Daily bread, Mission, and both must apply and be accepted as staff members. There is much power from Him locked inside a husband and wife that are in unity and love for Him and each other. The right husband and wife team, can move mountains. Both husband and wife need to be committed to ministry involvement with Our Daily Bread, Missions and know in themselves that all of this His Ministry and His will for their lives. If an applicant is engaged and plans to marry prior to joining staff or within the first year of being on staff, the fiancé must submit an application as well. His work and His Word and His ministry is about building relationships, making them stronger, not tearing them down, but husbands and wives must be in unity or the house will fall. In ministry, the body and marriage it is submitting to one another.
Divorce/Single Parent
Top
Divorce may or may not be a dis-qualifier depending on the circumstances. At Our Daily Bread., Missions we believe that God intends marriage to be between one man and one woman for life. We believe the marriage especially sealed by Him is a part of His covenant with us and each other as husband and wife. We believe that marriage is as serious as salvation. We do understand that many things happen to people before coming to Christ and all to often things happen after people come to Christ. While we recognize that in a sinful world there are times when marriages fail, we feel that it is important for individuals who have gone through a divorce to have had sufficient time for reconciliation and healing before returning to a prominent role in ministry. Therefore, we ask that two years of consistent Christian living elapse between the time of divorce and the submission of a staff application.
Single Parents Top
God's design for the family is that a husband and wife jointly share the task of raising children. While the husband is responsible to god for the outcome of the family we believe that the husband is called to serve the wife and Christ serves the church. Therefore, when a parent finds himself forced to parent children alone, the demands are tremendous. The needs of the children have not changed, but the number of available parent hours has changed. The demands of full-time ministry as a staff member could jeopardize adequate time, energy, or attention for the children. Although we do have single parents working with us in different capacities, most of those capacities are not in a direct ministry leadership role, but usually in a support position.
Debt Top
We believe that personal debt is somewhat like being in prison. Debt binds believers to that point that often times they cannot serve. For those in debt and desire to go into ministry, Our Daily Bread, Missions offers counseling to help people get out of debt and ways the can create income even in ministry. I counseling you will find that we have ways through Him
using biblical principles to turn things around in a step by step method:
Step 1: Spend Your Money Smarter! Everybody spends money, but often times, money can be spent more wisely. Part of this is to clean up past problems and credit reports
Step 2: Grow Your Money Faster! There are biblical principles that can turn whatever income you have around so it will grow and increase. When we understand that all things we produce are fruits and He has a right to our first fruits we are blessed. He makes it so. It is not just about money, but our time, our children, as well. It works.
Step 3: Earn Your Money Easier! If God is for us, who can be against us? We have been given all the tools through His resurrection. It is a matter of learning how to use what we have been given.

for Ministry
If there is a need in the community, there should be Christians working together to deal with then need. When Christians work together to supply the needs of the community, the glory goes to Him. When the world supplies the need, then the world gets the glory and Satan is the god of this world.
It is a choice to serve Him or serve the world. That is what we will be held accountable for. It is the basis of salvation to serve Him and not the world.
Are there ministry opportunities? More than you may know. We at Our Daily Bread, Mission are here to serve you in helping prepare you for ministry and even helping to raise funds for your ministry. In many positions you are responsible for raising funds, but you will find we help in that area as well. When you become a part of us, we become responsible through him for you. Making
a Ministry Plan
• "Who came up with this support-raising idea?"
• "Didn't God change His missions' budget in the New Testament?"
• "Paul was a tent maker. He didn't ask for gifts. Shouldn't I follow his example?"
• "Is it less spiritual to look for a salaried missionary job rather than a support-raising position?"
• "Can I really live on a missionary's salary?"
• "I'm willing to do what God wants, but right now I just don't feel comfortable raising support."
"Who came up with this support-raising idea?"
Nearly 3,300 years ago, God designed a comprehensive financial plan that would adequately provide the salaries and benefits of His full-time workers. In the book of Numbers, God called the Levites to be His first full-time ministers. There were plenty of qualified and motivated laymen (i.e. Moses, Joshua, Caleb) to work in the tabernacle, but God was looking for more than part-time help. He wanted to meet the demanding spiritual needs of the nation, but these could not be met by even the most dedicated workers in their spare time alone.
God created a position for vocational ministers in His kingdom, and these first full-time workers, the Levites, were instructed to rely on God for their income and financial stability.
The Lord tells Aaron in Numbers 18:20,21 ". . . I am your portion and your inheritance among the sons of Israel. . . to the sons of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service which they perform. . . " (See also Deuteronomy 18:1,2.)
The Lord staked His credibility on providing financial security for His servants. While the nation Israel worked the land and faced the financial uncertainties of drought, disease and famine, the Lord promised to provide for the Levites through the tithes and offerings of their countrymen.
In addition, when God set up His employee pay scale, His checking account was not overdrawn (Numbers 18:8-13). He demanded that His workers be well-cared for. The Lord instructed the people to set aside the "most holy gifts" and "the best of the fresh wine and of the grain" for His ministers. The Israelites were charged with the responsibility of providing for the finances of the Levites, and they were to give of their best.
"Didn't God change His missions' budget in the New Testament?"
After Christ came God did establish a new covenant whereby any believer (not just those in the family of Levi) could serve Him in vocational ministry. Jesus, who was a carpenter, could have funded His ministry by building furniture or repairing carts and tables full-time, then teaching and healing during His spare time. But that's not the example He left those He calls to vocational service.
As Jesus went out ministering full-time, He relied on people (i.e. Mary, Martha, Lazarus) who helped ". . . support Him out of their own means" (Luke 8:3). Jesus had financial supporters.
When Christ commissioned His followers "to every city and place," He gave them the spiritual authority to minister and told them to trust Him for their physical provisions. "Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts; take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; for the worker is worth his keep" (Matthew 10:9,10). They were to accept gifts from others, as Jesus said, "eating and drinking what they give you; for the laborer is worthy of his wages" (Luke 10:4-7). A laborer in God's kingdom is truly worthy of being paid for his service. The workers in the early church lived on the same system of support that God established with the Levites.
FAQ's Top
There are many questions that each person has about join staff and while we don't have room to answer each question below you can see a few of the questions. There are also more FAQ's by clicking the link
Commonly
Asked Questions.
Q: How is ODB funded?
All of our full-time staff members are required to raise and maintain their own financial support. These funds then pay the staff member's salary and benefits. These funds come from one of three sources and usually a combination of the three. First, there are you efforts to raise funds. We can help you with some of this. Secondly through donations that we receive and thirdly through our Matching ministry funds programs which are available to Members upon approval of you ministry plan.
Q: How do I know where I will be assigned to work?
We strive to match people's skills with existing needs. It is our hope that our staff are called to the cause (advancing the message of Christ), trusting that God will work through ODB and the applicant to place staff in-line with individual interests and ODB needs.
Q: How long does the application and training process take?
Expect the application and training process depending on how much you spend, from 1 month to about six months, from the time we receive an application, training, and fund raising efforts. Applicants should therefore apply as soon as possible depending on their desire to serve and their financial needs for ministry and themselves.
Q: What are the deadlines to have application materials turned in?
There are not exact deadlines, however it is important to have all paperwork and fees paid one month prior to the beginning of scheduled start times.
Winter training: January 1
Spring training: March 1
Summer training: June 1
Fall training: September 1
The deadline means that we must receive all the application materials (application, references, questionnaires, college transcript if appropriate, and any other requested information, fees) by the deadline date to make a decision to attend New Staff Training.
Why so far in advance? The evaluation process can take as long as 3-4 weeks depending on how fast you submit things, and registration is one week before training. If a deadline is missed, we will continue to process the application for the next training.
Q: What are the full-time staff training requirements?
Full-time staff must complete three training segments: New Staff Training, Ministry Partner Development, and the Leadership Training which are a part of the basic certifications studies program. Each program varies depending on the certification and calling. Working full time on the basic studies can take from 3-5 weeks if you do nothing else. Most people do have a life of some sort which is why we spread the basic studies over a three month period of time to accommodate those working.
