The Ministry of Jesus

    (Our Daily Bread)

By looking closely at Jesus ministry we can see that it was divided into two parts. The first was caring for the immediate needs of people. The second part of His ministry was teaching people how to fish and care for themselves. We here realize also that there are two parts to the problem as the problem has gotten bigger. We find that Jesus had compassion for the people the He met which is a fundamental key to getting the job done. It was and still is a condition of His heart and as Christians we should care for people. He gave His life so that we could have an alternative to the way things are. He gave us through His sacrifice the tools in order to get the job done, but it is up to us to use the tools that He has given. He does not and has not forced us to do His will to care for the needs others, but left it up to us to either learn how to carry on in His work or choose not to.

Jesus gave us two basic directives; love God with all of your ability and the second love they neighbor as thyself and it would seem that one cannot do one without the other. Our personal beliefs control whether we do this or not. Our beliefs bear fruit either way. It is His desire that we bear good fruit (John 15:16), but left it up to us to make the choice to follow His precepts bringing salvation to us and a hope and future for our children and much needed help to others or choose to do our own thing.

A Key to Understanding Scripture and Jesus' Ministry

I Corinthians 11:24-31

"24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. {in…: or, for a remembrance}

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. {ye do…: or, shew ye}

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. {damnation: or, judgment}

30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

The answer of course is in Christ but we need to realize that there are two parts to Christ. Jesus the head and we are the body."

"Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you." If we look at the account of Jesus death we will find that His body was not broken. Was this then an era in scripture on the part of some scribe? No! The body that was referred to is the body of Christ. We either have been broken or we have not. It is from being broken that we can begin to see the problems and the first steps to the solution. When we are broken for people we begin to see and care about what is happening around us and have a sincere desire to do something about it.

All it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing!

If we as the body had the will we could stop hunger in this generation.

Help us help others, help themselves.

We are responsible…..

When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, We want our hand always to be there. For that  we are responsible.

We are responsible both to God and each other.

"Together we can make a change, we can make a difference!"

"God gave us His Son, Spirit, Love, Direction, Purpose, Gifts, and free will. He gave us all the basic tools to either care for Him and others or care just for ourselves.

It is a choice either way, to either learn to work together to solve problems, but at the end, when it is all said and done, our true hearts will be exposed. We are given two things to do, love God and love our neighbor as ourselves.
