"I will Remember My Covenant."

We are a covenant people, but very few know

what God has given us.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

"I will Remember My Covenant."

Joe12:28a,

"That I will pour my Spirit on all flesh…"

There has been for some time and some confusion in regards to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and if it is needed or not. In many denominations it is taught that the gifts died with the apostles, and only those that knew Jesus personally could be an apostle. This brochure is designed to help explain what it is about and answer some questions.

First it needs to be understood that the author of confusion is Satan himself. The basic differences in beliefs is either Jesus left us here, to fight for ourselves, or did He give us the power and authority to do all things in His name.

In the Lord’s Prayer it says that His "will be done on earth as it is in heaven." By looking at this one statement we need to see that there is no sorrow in heaven. Neither is there sickness, disease, starvation, poverty, starvation and death. Most people understand this, but the usual come back is, what about death as we all know we die. Do we or do we pass from one place to the other?

The argument that we all die has kept the church in my opinion from receiving the power of God for the most part, and as a result we see what has happened in the world today. The other thing is that it is easier to believe we do not have the power, nor is it our job to change the world and fix the problems in it. That it may be somehow God’s will!

He wants us all to be kings, prophets and priests, but we must come into accountability and decide that we can change the world if we go forward. It is a responsibility as we become coworkers with God. We do not need the gifts if we are not going to use them or be resolved to fixing the things of this world.

This has been a problem with the body to understand who we are in Christ and what our position is to be in that body.

The point is we can stop cancer, end AIDS, end starvation, end diseases and poverty as we come back to God and ask Him to fill us with His Spirit, ask for His gifts and ask were we fit in the body.

Who can be Filled?

According to Acts 2:38 Peter tells us all who receive Christ. In John 14:17 Jesus says, (speaking of the Spirit) but you know Him, for He dwells with you, and will be in you."

How are we filled?

"Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said to him, "We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." And he said to them, "Into what then were you baptized?" So they said, "Into John’s baptism." Then Paul said, "John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And Paul laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

How? They laid hands on them.

The gift of the Holy Spirit can also be received by asking for it, as the other gifts of the Spirit are received as we are told to ask and it will be given.

In Acts Chapter 2 we see that they are gathered in the upper room waiting for the Spirit as they were told to do by Christ before He ascended to go to heaven. One thing that we need to realize is that they were used to going to Jesus for direction in anything. What they were doing is waiting for direction and they were filled the Holy Spirit and given the power of the Spirit.

They were the first people to be born again. No one could be born again until after Christ had died, buried and been resurrected. The people prior to this were still under the Old Covenant. It is time for the body to wake up and take its rightful place in the world and stop the things that need to be stopped. Christ is truly coming again. He said that the world would be in a mess before He came back, but that doesn’t mean that is the way He wanted it.

We are to act in faith and get out of the boat as Peter did. God’s calling His church, but are we listening. There is a parable about the brides waiting for the bride groom to return. We all know what happens, many were left out because they were not ready. Or how about the two brothers working in the field. One was ready the other not. Many look at this as one brother was a believer, and one was not. Jesus said it, Why? He has had no problems with other words, or is it pride on our part.

Body it is time to wake up, face God, repent, and perhaps become responsible for the world which we have been given.

Ask God for the gifts and the in filling of the Holy Spirit, and expect the power of God to come. It will be the best part of your life. Pray ask and after you do open your mouth and speak whatever comes in your mind, even if you do not understand. It is the Spirit of God!

"God gave us His Son, Spirit, Love, Direction, Purpose, Gifts, and free will. He gave us all the basic tools to either care for Him and others or care just for ourselves.

It is a choice either way, to either learn to work together to solve problems, but at the end, when it is all said and done, our true hearts will be exposed. We are given two things to do, love God and love our neighbor as ourselves.
