"I will Remember My Covenant."

We are a covenant people, but very few know

what God has given us.

Concerning Spiritual Gifts

"I will Remember My Covenant."

Today, more than any other time in mans history we are in need of help. Help to get along with each other, help in disease, help with starvation and help with finances, as the debts seem to keep going up, but the income never seems to meet the need.

Some how many have become accustomed to hearing such reports, when just a few years ago we would all have been very upset and had enough compassion to do something about it. What has happened? What has made the difference?

Although there are many answers to these complex issues of today, one answer is there seems to be a lack of leadership and accountability for the events of today. No one seems to be responsible. We have turned from God and become a humanistic society, were birds have as much right as humans. Humans have seemingly given up hope for the future. Is it to late?

Jesus said that we can do nothing without Him. Maybe he was correct in this statement. On the other hand, He also said that we can do all things through Him. We find, although He ascended to heaven, that he left us with an order for things to happen where we would be cared for, a place where there should be no disease, sickness, starvation or poverty. His answer was through the completeness of the body and its ministry. If we talk with any doctor we will get a sense of how complicated the human body really is, and how many parts it takes to work the body. Each part working together, brings harmony and unity to itself so the body can function properly.

God understood this principle as He created the body of believers and the gifts to help and edify the body. Each member having their own gifts and part to accomplish, working in harmony with each other, in the Holy Spirit. This brings the fruit of the Spirit, love , joy, peace, things that do not seem to be visible in the world today.

Jesus gave us the answers and the solutions to the worlds problems, but we must be resolved to using them. It’s like the carpenter being given the tools to use, but never uses them. In the life of the believer, our manual to follow is the Bible, and the teacher is the Holy Spirit, but we still have to use the principles to make everything work as we are co-laborers with God.

God’s solution in part to the problems of the world are the Spiritual gifts. These gifts found in I Corinthians 12:7-10,28; 7) But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8) for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9) to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, 10) to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of Spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another interpretation of tongues. 28) And god has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then the gifts of healing, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

The gifts were given to us because God knows what we need to get along in the world. Jesus showed us in many examples, that by committing what we have, God will bring the increase to take care of the rest and give a surplus. Jesus showed us time after time how God would bring the surplus, but we still have to use the tools that he gave us.

By looking at I Corinthians 12:7, Paul's first letter to the church at Corinth, he tells us why the gifts were given, "for the profit of all." Gifts of healing, and miracles. These are things that the world needs today. We can stop disease, poverty, and starvation.

How? The body needs to understand that we are one body with different parts. This means that we are to be accountable to each other. We would have to put pride away and come into unity. We then coming into accountability would have to listen to the authority that was given by God to us.

Why? This is how God works. Until we do what He has given us, why should He give us more to do. Jesus said, we can do what he did, and more.

How? By seeking the kingdom of God first and putting Him first in all things. It takes for us to turn to God individually and tell God we can not make it with out Him and asking Him to led every day, by giving Him control. It is then that He can work through us. We get the gifts by asking for them. He wants to give us the gifts so we can help others. All we have to do is ask, believe that you have received and act upon it.

He wants to work through all His children, those born again. His will is that the things done in heaven will be done on earth. In heaven there is no sickness, disease, poverty, starvation and sorrow. We can make a difference in the world, ask and receive.

If you have not received Christ in your life, all you have do is to pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. Call upon Him, believing that He died for your sins, and was raised from the grave, and ask Him to come into your heart as you want Him to lead you in all things. Thank Him!

"Together we can make a change, we can make a difference!"

"God gave us His Son, Spirit, Love, Direction, Purpose, Gifts, and free will. He gave us all the basic tools to either care for Him and others or care just for ourselves.

It is a choice either way, to either learn to work together to solve problems, but at the end, when it is all said and done, our true hearts will be exposed. We are given two things to do, love God and love our neighbor as ourselves.
