"I will Remember My Covenant."

We are a covenant people, but very few know

what God has given us.

The Doctrine of Laying Hands

"I will Remember My Covenant."

Hebrews 6:1-21) Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on to perfection: not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.

2) 0f the doctrine of Baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

In this passage of scripture we have some basic doctrines listed here in the second verse. If we the body taught anything less we would not be in line with the Word of God!

One of the fundamental things that the body still must do today in my opinion is to decide once and for all if we believe that God is stronger than Satan. This may seem like a strange question, but the reason I write this is because the body, the church today acts in fear, doubt, disbelief, defeat and failure, as diseases, such as AIDS, cancers, starvation and abortion seem to be on the increase. The other things that seem to be on the increase is drug addiction, and alcohol abuse. To say anything less would be less than the truth. What ever we are doing as the body is not working.

This is not an easy thing for me to admit to as I hate to give any credit or credence to the enemy, but the facts are the facts.

This does not mean that things have to stay the way they are. I must assure you that God is God, and anything less will not do. Then if that is true, what is going wrong you may well ask?

Here are some things that must be done to turn this world around to a solution, instead of believers focusing on the problems. First we must repent, when we do this and admit this is a Spiritual problem rather than a problem of the flesh we then are asking God to intervene instead of thinking we know what we are doing.

The next thing that must be done is to come into unity and turn our face to God as the authority.

When we stop focusing on the problems, but the solutions we begin to walk by faith and not by sight. Satan's great lie is that there is no hope and the believer is powerless to do anything about it. When we focus on problems, we are not living by faith, but fear and doubt. When we focus on the solution we are acting on faith and standing on the Word. First nowhere in the Word of God does it say to focus on problems. It does tell us to pray, praise and act upon what we have asked for in faith.

God gave us solutions to the problems but we need to understand that we are one body with many parts, and working in the Spirit instead of worrying about doctrinal differences will bring back the power. With the power comes responsibility, the responsibilities of a hurting world. We need to take what Satan is doing personally as he is doing what he is doing to a family member.

The next thing to do is to go back to the Bible, the whole Bible and preach and teach these simple truths, and if they do not work, do not point to the Bible and say the Bible is no longer valid or it was at one time, but look at ourselves as we may not have all the answers that we think we have. Turn our face to God and ask Him to work the gifts. When we ask the Spirit of God to work with us, He will, but we must do what we are told to do.

One of those things that we are told to do is seek the five fold gift ministry in Ephesians 4:11 as some are called to be Apostles, some Prophets, and so on. The reason this is in place is so the body will grow in unity and be strong, not be sitting in the middle of disease.

Many times throughout the Bible people laid hands on others and prayed for them. What happens when we do this, beside the fact we are then in line with the Word, is that the Spirit of God is passed from us to the person to help in the healing.

Mark 11:22-24, tells us that believers will do this. I would also think that if you do not believe you will not do this. If that is the case if people do not believe the Word, why are they preaching it? It’s strong language here, but if we go around thinking that we are OK and can do anything that we want we are mistaken and when we start to loose loved ones that could have been saved or even raised from the dead, it is then time to look at why things are not happening the way they were designed. Jesus gave us the tools, the power, and the knowledge, but we must get in line with the Word and start to do what we have been commanded to do.

Let me ask you, when was the last time you commanded the weather or sickness or demons. If you have never done it, I encourage you to get involved as we can make a difference in the world. If you do not know how ask. Ask His Spirit. Ask Jesus to lead you to the truth, but be open to the truth. God's power is the same today as it was when Jesus was walking the earth, as it was when Moses parted the sea and today as you lay hands on someone to be healed. You should expect it. He promised it, and Jesus paid a high price for us to be His priests. God has in love given us so much. He gave us all the ability to become sons of God, but so few reach out in faith and accept.

Let me ask you something else would you go to a church that does not teach the truth or the truth in its entirety? Of course not as this is a life and death issue. Yet when things do not work we have a tendency to blame God. What is wrong with the picture?

"God gave us His Son, Spirit, Love, Direction, Purpose, Gifts, and free will. He gave us all the basic tools to either care for Him and others or care just for ourselves.

It is a choice either way, to either learn to work together to solve problems, but at the end, when it is all said and done, our true hearts will be exposed. We are given two things to do, love God and love our neighbor as ourselves.
