Biblical Twelve Step

Eight Principles Based on the Beatitudes

    Eight Natural Laws

  1. Behaviors, good or bad, are a result of beliefs, caused by influences, creating expectations, self-talk, which creates self-actualization or self fulfilled prophesy. (A seed of its own kind will always bear fruit after its seed, either unity and resolve or confusion and eventually destruction). We see, hear, and feel through filters in the mind, controlled by the heart. There are one of two trees that we choose to eat from, the Tree of Knowledge which will always bring death or the Tree of Life.

  2. If the results of behavior(s) do not meet our needs, we, the body, or others around us there have been some bad influences, beliefs, and attitudes.

  3.  Outcomes always take time to measure. Outcomes are a result of the soil that has either been nurtured or deprived. Outcomes and behaviors can always be traced back to their origin, leaving them exposed. By inspection of the fruit produced, we know the origin. Change in spiritual influences will produce a different behavior which will be noticed immediately.

  4. Growth defined, is having the ability to learn from the past and applying things learned to the future, altering those things that need to be changed. Changes can only come if we truly desire to make a change. When beliefs are changed as a result from self examination by seeking God for direction, behavioral patterns will be altered, which will change expectations, attitudes, and will bring new outcomes and end results.

  5. Addictive behaviors and behaviors that lead to others being hurt are the result of internal hurts and deep-seated unmet needs.

  6. If self worth is dependent on anything external (including God), outcomes and future events will be distorted, leaving individuals hurt and unfulfilled. If our power is external, we become victims of circumstance and can change nothing.

  7.  Inner peace is a result of changed influences and behaviors which are a result of becoming more focused on God, His will for us, and our purpose and calling. As new influences (Spirit and people) and beliefs are created true needs begin to be met.

  8. The mind will always naturally seek peace and harmony when presented with two opposing and opposite principles. The mind, body, and the spirit cannot survive on a long-term basis with opposing or conflicting ideas or beliefs.

     Twelve Steps for Change:

  1. Take responsibility for outcomes, actions, and re-actions.

  2. Understand that all battles are spiritual. It is the flesh that wars against the Spirit. Admit to ourselves that we are powerless and victims without Him and as such our lives are unmanageable.

  3. Only God through Jesus can restore us.

  4. To make a decision to turn our lives and will over to Him and seek His will, purpose, and direction. Salvation occurs from turning our lives over to Him and learning how to trust and obey Him.

  5. In self-examination take an inventory of where we are at and how we got there. Identify the self-talk (speech). Watch for the words spoken. Are they of doubt or fear? Do the words (our speech) bring unity, love, and peace, or disunity?

  6. Repent (ask forgiveness of God and those that we have injured or done wrong) and be determined not to go back to our old way of thinking and our old lives. Observe the result of the behavior or belief (Self-examination).

  7. Be ready and willing to have God remove all defects of character and be willing to put Him first in our lives. If behavior remains re-identify values and motives. Seek God and identify some alternative beliefs based on scripture or a new understanding.

  8. Identify the root influence that creates the belief (s). Identify the expectations and attitudes. Ask God and count on Him to make changes in us. Identify new potential behaviors and outcomes.

  9. Make a list of persons we have harmed and make amend wherever possible.

  10. Continue in self-examination, take direction, and be willing to admit it, when we are wrong.

  11. Daily seek God for His direction and ask that His will be done in your life. Pray the Lord’s prayer and ask you receive His purpose or receive a vision and power to carry it out.

  12. Having walked in His Light and practice His principles, reach out to others in need and be willing to walk with them.

I am responsible…..

When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want our hand always to be there. For that I am responsible.

We are responsible both to God

    and each other.
