Please pray for Emily and others struggle with eating disorders
« on: January 22, 2012, 12:53:58 PM »
About a year ago, I was recovering from a very difficult time in my life, one that made me seriously question my future and possibly could’ve claimed my life.  However someone saved me.  One night while I was feeling particularly lonesome and questioning how I would ever overcome the troubling experiences I had recently been through, a girl from my high school named Emily had randomly decided to talk to me.  I didn’t quite know who she was at the time, and I’m not sure she knew who I was at the time, but as we talked, I became deeply intrigued by her.  As time went on, I began to talk to her more and more.  This is because talking to her helped me a great deal to move past the troubling experiences that I had been through.  Emily made me realize that I did have a future, that I could be someone who could really help others.   Basically, she savedmy life.
The more got to know her, the more I also thought she was the sweetest, prettiest, most amazing girl in my whole school.  However at the time I thought that I wasn’t even good enough to be friends with her, So I didn’t tell her how I felt about her, or even that she had saved my life, and I eventually stopped talking to her.  A few months ago however after it had been a long since I talked to her, I was wondering how she was doing.  I decided to look at her blog that she had, but when I saw what she posted on her blog, I was deeply saddened and disturbed.  From her blog I found out that since her boyfriend had dumped her, she was greatly suffering from depression and an eating disorder along with other sever mental health issues.  I began talking to her again, hoping that she would get better, but she has only gotten worse.  The last I heard she only weighed 97.5 pounds.  Doctors have been giving her flu shots because they are afraid that if she gets the flu in her weakened condition, she will die.  They have also been warning her that if she doesn’t start eating regularly again and gaining weight that her organs will shut down.  I have also recently found out that she may  have to be taken out of school and placed in a treatment center or hospital if her eating disorder and overall condition doesn’t improve, and/or put on several different medications.
Emily is only 16 years old and I feel she is way too young to be going through such much suffering that could possibly take her life.  I can hardly describe how difficult it is for me to see her have to go through this.  Not a day goes by that I don’t worry about her.  She is the first person that I think about when I wake up in the morning and the last person I think about when I go to bed at night.   Sometimes I worry about her so much that I can’t even eat.  I feel as though if she doesn’t get better, nothing I ever do will ever matter, because I wouldn’t be where I am today without her.   Emily is a truly wonderful, beautiful, compassionate girl who I and several others cannot afford to lose.  Therefore, the favor that I ask of you is to simply say a prayer for Emily and all the other young people around this country and around the world who suffer from such severe problems that threaten their lives.  Please pray that her and all others like her safely make it through such severe times in their lives and that they have a bright future that is filled with love, peace, and prosperity and happiness, and that they may have as great of an impact on the lives of others as Emily has had on mine.  If you could do me this favor I would be eternally grateful to all of you and I bless all of you that pray for her and others.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart

This is one of the things that sadfully pleages the teen race all over the world today. I heard a story about a women and her husband that went on a mission trip to Africa. They loved each other very much and was very close, and had been together for most of there lives. The husband wanted to go free diving in a famous spring that was there so as he done this the wife sit on the beach and read. The man had done this many times and could hold his breath for mins so when he waved at her on his way down she had no worries. After fifteen minites she began to worrie and called for help but it was to late. They did not find her husband till the next day. Now all of this happened on 9-11 so all flights was grounded and she was all alone with no way for any of her family to get to her. She went up into her room and weap and even began thinging of takeing her own life. By Gods grace one of the maids that was cleaning in the next room heard her. She went next door and just held the woman in her arms and gave her love and compasion and was just there for her . These ladys had never meet and this maid just saved her life by just being there. They did get to know each other over the next week but did not keep contact after, but about three years later they ran into each other again. The maid began to tell the woman that she had lost her home and job after there first meeting and her son had just passed away and she had no idea what to do. The woman remembered what the maid had done for her so she gave her the money to get a new home, helped her find a job, and most of all was just there for her.God used these women in each others lives at differnt times of need.He used Emily in your life when you was at hard times and now he could need you to be in hers now. We will be praying for both of you.
