Pray for Your enemies
« on: August 05, 2009, 09:35:42 PM »
Luke 23:34,Then Jesus said,Father, forgive them;for they know not what they do.And they parted his raiment, and cast lots." How possible can we forgive those people who killed hundreds of Americans during 9/11? How can Iraque forgive who murderd their children, husband, sister, brother, mother and father?.Jesus did forgive because He was 100% God and man.I am or we are not 100% God we are men created with sin.Do people really forgive or just braging and give lip services!

Oh Lord, truly help us to forgive our enemies. Help us not to be hypocrites but ones that speak in truth! People in the world can figure out whether we are true to God or not. We want to be true to you first and true to ourselves and then to those around us. Your son Jesus Christ was a complete man who forgave those who persecuted Him and put Him to death on the cross. We too Lord, need the same heart. Your Word days "Be Ye Holy as I am Holy". Teach us how we can be holy like you. You know very well our weaknesses and infirmities, try us and refine us Lord. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
In Christ,

The big part is if we do not forgive then we will not be forgiven.

So it is probably a really good idea to forgive :D
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Jesus is the head and we are the body of Christ. It is a circle based on love, unity, respect, freedom and equality.

Forgiving sometimes goes so against what we wish to do....our flesh gets in the way at times....part of forgiving is first of all being humble before God so that He can lift us up...He had to forgive, we are to follow His example for our actions speak deeper than our words ( or as above, lip service :) )
Thank you for this discussion...blessings :)
