"I will Remember My Covenant."

We are a covenant people, but very few know

what God has given us.

Praise, Prayer & Commands

"I will Remember My Covenant."

James 4:3

3) You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Matthew 26:4 1

41) Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. the Spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.

Hebrews 13:15

15) Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

There is a difference between prayer, praise and commands and we as Christians need to know the difference so we will know what works and what does not, and why. We have been told that we can do the same things as Jesus. He was here not as God, but the Son of Man. This is true and by looking at what He did and how He did it we can see that we may also have been asking amiss for things that we already may have been given, or perhaps praying for something that we should have been commanding all along.

Jesus as we know did spend much time in prayer or perhaps a better word is communion with the Father (John 17). We find Jesus praying for Himself, but also others. Verse 9 tells us that he is not praying for the world, but the ones that were sent to Him. This is something  we can pray for, people to be sent to us to help get the job done. But once they are with you, you are then responsible for them and their care. One example of Jesus commanding things was when He commanded not only demons to be gone but also the weather. He did not control people but loosed demonic influence that had a grip on people. If we believe we can do the same things. One example of this is the storm that the disciples thought they would not be able to survive. Satan is god of this earth and as such controls the rain and the storms. So praying to God for something that we have been given the power and authority to do would not be standing in faith.

This is the same reason that Jesus commanded sickness and rebuked it as it was not from God but from sin, and sin should be rebuked and not tolerated by the believer. When we do not rebuke sickness and disease we are giving way to Satan, because we are told that we are of God, as greater is He that is in us than he that is of the world. We the believer have the power over sickness and disease unless we choose to put up with it. We also have the power over the winds and the rain in the same manner.

On the other hand Jesus did spend much time in prayer or a better word might be communion with the Father. An example of prayer might be the 17th chapter of John. We find Jesus praying for Himself, but also others. Verse 9 tells us that he is not praying for the world, but the ones that were seen to Him. This is something then we can pray for, people to be sent to us to help get the job done. But once they are with you, you are then responsible for them and their care.

Another good example of commands is that Jesus told Peter to pay the temple tax with the coin that was in the mouth of the fish.. This may seem strange, but God can make all the Gold coins for us that we need, as gold is pavement in heaven. Jesus was simply annoyed with an earthly bother, as gold is regarded highly here instead of the Father.

Another thing to look at is praise. We find that throughout the Old Testament that great things are done with praise. Why? God inhabits His praise. This is why we should offer praise as a sacrifice. It is a joy to praise God for all the things that He has done for us. When we do this our faith grows as we are standing on His word and acting in line with it. Walls fell as a result of praise, armies ran as a result of praise, every adversary that we have also can and will be run off because of praise. We do not have to put up with Satan and his bunch. We are to praise God and pull down the strongholds of Satan that are around us and perhaps keeping us from being victorious, in all things.

God wants us to command all things and get the job done as Jesus passed His authority to us as he ascended to heaven. He gave power on heaven and on earth to loose or to bind. This means that we can through faith accomplish all things through Christ. He was anointed and so are we, buy the same Spirit. This is important to understand as Satan will do everything that he can to keep you from your victories in your life and keep you from helping others, until we understand that we as His sons have been given power and dominion over these things.

Each of us need to look at Jesus as He is our example, but He is more, He is also the author and the finisher of our faith and holds all truths. Faith is a great key as we can see throughout history that all the greats' in the Old and the New Testament accomplished all they did by faith. We can all do these great things by faith. Jesus promised this and He wants us to do it, for Him and for us.

"God gave us His Son, Spirit, Love, Direction, Purpose, Gifts, and free will. He gave us all the basic tools to either care for Him and others or care just for ourselves.

It is a choice either way, to either learn to work together to solve problems, but at the end, when it is all said and done, our true hearts will be exposed. We are given two things to do, love God and love our neighbor as ourselves.
