Seminars & Retreat Guidelines

THE FOLLOWING SUMMARY OUTLINES AND NEEDS FOR CONDUCTING FULL-DAY AND EVENING SEMINARS: (Updated 10/5/06)

PURPOSE:

ODB, Seminars are designed to help equip and empower believers to live a better life with God and help each understand who they are in Christ and the Authority given by God to the body of Christ. The seminars help to facilitate a healthy church community and healthy local outreach program.

SPEAKERS:

Speakers come from a variety of backgrounds, but have either passed the ODB Certification Studies and are Licensed Ministers of ODB or have graduated from Our Daily Bread, Bible Institute, both agreeing with the Articles of Faith and adhere to Missions Board Code of Ethics for Missions Work.

SPEAKING FEE:

  • There is no charge nor set speaking fee.

  • Gratuity or love offerings are at the discretion of the event sponsors.

  • Our Daily Bread, Ministries does request reimbursement for syllabus printing costs.

  • Please notify us if you intend to take a love offering, so that we can plan for it in the seminar schedule.

SEMINAR ADMISSION COSTS:

  • So that the poor will not be excluded from receiving ministry (2 Cor 2:17), ODB, requests that either no Admission fee be charged for seminars, or that free admission be available for the needy. An offering(s) is taken to compensate facilitators and to pay for costs.

  • For full-day seminars, we ask that a registration or "Syllabus fee" be charged to cover the cost of the seminar syllabus -- $9 at the door and $7 in advance. The syllabus is meant to be optional -- not everyone need purchase one. The discounted $7 early registration/syllabus fee is to prompt advance registrations, which will help event planners better determine projected attendance and plan accordingly. We ask that those groups wishing to alter the cost structure call us before proceeding with plans.

  • For 1-evening seminars, syllabi are not always available. In those cases we will provide event sponsors free master copies of the session outlines for reproduction.

ATTENDANCE:

  • In order for ODB, Ministries to reach the broadest number of people, thereby making the best use of his time away from their families, we ask that any group sponsoring a seminar commit to having a minimum of 100 in attendance. For some this will be easy, but for others this will require diligence in publicity.

  • To help maximize attendance, we will supply masters for fliers, brochures, and posters, and we will make available a publicity checklist to help with publicity strategies.

TRAVEL:

  • Conference sponsors will need to provide airfare to all events located at a distance beyond a 3-hour drive from Sisters, OR. We ask that ODB, be reimbursed for mileage @ 29 cents p/mile.

  • To insure air flights do not conflict with scheduling, we will make all air travel arrangements. For Saturday seminars, we will schedule flights to arrive Friday no earlier than 3 PM. Exceptions may be made if no flights are available. For evening seminars, we will schedule the flight early enough to arrive at the facility at least 90 minutes before the event begins.

  • Full-day Saturday events usually require an overnight stay, arriving late Friday afternoon and returning Saturday evening. To help us book flight times, we need to know the drive time from the airport to the event facility. Please inform us of any local rush-hour traffic, which should be taken into consideration.

  • Please plan for two. We will find the lowest rate available.

  • Due to unfamiliarity with new areas, and the complications which can accompany car rentals, We appreciates being picked up at the airport rather than being provided a rental car.

LODGING:

  • Discretion of sponsors.

  • If hotel accommodations are provided, we will need a non-smoking room with 2 queen size beds.

MEALS:

  • Meals will need to be provided during speaking engagements.

PERSONNEL NEEDED:

  • Driver for airport pick up. Vehicle should be large enough to transport 6 heavy suitcases.

  • Sound technician or capable substitute.

  • Registration volunteers to disseminate syllabi or outlines.

BOOKS AND TAPE SALES:

  • Tables for display of materials need to be located in auditorium foyer or in refreshment hall.

  • For full-day Saturday seminars, Friday access to the facility for set up of display tables would be helpful. Approximately 1 hour is needed to set up the display.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED:

  • An overhead projector be available.

  • Large projection screen positioned so that entire audience can see.

  • Lapel microphone (preferably cordless).

TIME FRAME FOR SEMINARS:

  • Full-day seminars run from 9 am to 5:30 pm with two 15-minute breaks and a 1-hour lunch. Breaks are approximately 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. Lunch is approximately 12:30 pm. Registration opens at 8:30.

  • Evening sessions typically last 90 minutes each. For 2-session evening seminars there is a 15 minute break between the sessions.

Six Life Changing Seminars! Back

Wide ShotSeminars:

The ODB, Seminars are designed to be used in churches or groups, which look at different areas of our lives. Each program is unique but all can lead to a healing as a person feels free to give up the bondage they may be in and turn their life over to God or seek a closer relationship to God. Some of these Seminars lead people to seeking their purpose in the body. From that purpose they are able to seek a vision and become active as they then fit.

Victorious Living Seminar:

The focus of this seminar is to become victorious through the blood of Christ. It examines who we are in Christ and what He paid for in His death, burial and resurrection, so we could be victorious in all aspects of our lives if we are willing to let God control or lives. The focal point is the surrender and the submission to what God wants to do in tour lives and the only way that we can be happy. This seminar can be taught in as little as 1 hour but can also take as long as 8 hours to present all of the material.

Marriage Seminar:

Although it may seem that sometimes we may have married an alien, God had a plan for each one of us. This seminar looks at the differences at the way a man and wife looks at things. God created us differently for many reasons and it is understanding these reasons, which bring relief to many married couples. It also brings a healing as the walls begin to come down between couples. Man was created for God and women for man, this is the beginning. This seminar ends in a surprise with a communion service as Christ offered the cup and the bread to the disciples and asked them to be His bride. This seminar allows people to rededicate their marriage and their lives to Christ.

Finding the Will of God in Our Lives!

Ephesians 5:17 tells us the importance of understanding the will of God in our lives, but so few in the church are sure who they are and God 's plan and purpose for their lives. Many people in an effort to understand His will have settled for even some bad beliefs. An example of this which is looked at tin the Seminar is the End of the World. The fact is it is prophesied, but is it God's will for man or Satan's. The Lord's prayer, which was really designed for us tells us to pray that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Heaven is not like earth and if God's will was done hear this earth would not be in the condition that it is in. The Seminar shows hoe to get back on track with God, commune with Him and be the co-workers that we were designed to be.

Goal Planning/ Preparing For Ministry:

We as believers are all called to Ministry, but so few are involved. In fact, the statistics show it is about five percent of the Christians that do 95% of what is being done. It is a wonder why things are the way they are. God is calling an army together to live by faith and to wait on Him, preparing and to do for what we are all called. He is preparing a Holy Priesthood, an army to go out and serve and do, as He will's, by faith , rooted in Him. We are to be Ambassadors for Christ representing the kingdom of God here on earth, by every action we make or word we speak we are either speaking destruction of life.

The ODB Healing School:

The Healing School, is a School, which like the name focuses on healing emotional, physical and spiritual issues? Instead of leaving many hurts at the cross which is were it was dealt with have carried this baggage around for years, not understanding it was paid for by His blood and stripes. For many it is coming to an understanding our authority over Satan. An alter is offered with this and all those that have a desire to pray for those in need are asked to participate. It was by the power of their testimony that 3-5,000 came to the Lord. Many times the enemy gets us to under estimate the power of our testimony.
