Malachi 3:8-10
- WiIl a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me! But you say, In what way have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings.
- You are cursed with a curse. For you have robbed Me, Even This Whole Nation!
10. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse. That there may be food in Mv House. And prove me now in this. Says the Lord of Hosts. If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive It.
Here in this portion of scripture we find something that is clear and yet graphic, and if we are willing to apply it to ourselves we might see on thing that may be wrong in the world today, and why God is not providing the way He has promised!
These words are strong, but show perhaps what has happened even to this nation as we have reduced the tithes and offerings to the church. It was at one time, the church was the social center. People would give to the church and the church would give out to the community or anyone that came along in need. In this way God received the glory as we are co-workers with Him and if we do our part we are always blessed beyond that of a person that does not love by these principles. The person giving gets blessed as when we give even to the least of the brothers we are giving directly to God!
Have you ever noticed that if you take two men with families and incomes the same, one tithes and the other does not, the one that tithes always seems to have enough and the other never has enough? The reason this principle works is God is in control and always fulfills Hid promises.
In the case of a nation we at one time were a Godly people, with Godly principles as a whole. We owed no one anything, however many countries owed us. How did this happen? When we tithe the nation will prosper, when we do not the nation will fail. One only needs to look around to see what is happening. This nation that went from a Godly nation owing no one, in fact many owing us, went from one extreme to another. We are now becoming one of the poorest nations on the face of this earth. The national debt is in the trillions, something that I cannot comprehend. What is a trillion dollars?
Wall street has run-amuc. It is next to insanity to keep up with the Jones’s as they are so far in debt, that they have to see shrinks to be able to justify the American dream. Debt! We have more homeless today than ten years ago and the number is increasing. Old people are eating canned dog food and cat food as a staple. All this for Social Security? We were sold on the idea that reason we were to pay this Tax was it would take care of us in our twilight years. Somehow I cannot see that $600 per month can take care of anyone!
What needs to happen is we need to come to our senses stop looking at others to justify our own reasoning, turn to God repent and get it right. We really are not as smart as we think we are! if you think so, look around!
Christ came to die for us on a cross, but He also came so we would no longer have to be in bondage and gave us believers dominion over the things of this earth. We are to have life and have life more abundantly. means that if we put our trust in Him do what He told us to, things will be fine. How do we know this? He said it, He wants us to abide in Him so He can abide in us. This simply means when we do this and trust Him for everything, in everything that we want to do and let Him direct us we will be successful in al things. How do I know this? It says so in His Word, and after all these years, He is still God. If He lied about anything, covered anything up, didn’t do exactly as he promised He would not be worthy and certainly not God.
Isaiah 9:6 tells us His name will be called, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Why not turn to Him now, au He asks is for you to invite Him into your life. He wants us to be still and know that He is God and Know what He will do for us. Yes He wants us to tithe and do for others, and love them as we love ourselves, putting God first in our lives. A world like this sounds pretty good doesn’t it? The alternative is suffering. stress, sickness, disease and finally death. It’s your choice. God loves and wants to care for you.

God gave us His Son, Spirit, Love, Direction, Purpose, Gifts, and free will. He gave us all the basic tools to either care for Him and others or care just for ourselves.
It is a choice either way, to either learn to work together to solve problems, but at the end, when it is all said and done, our true hearts will be exposed. We are given two things to do, love God and love our neighbor as ourselves.
